The parents, eight mums and one dad met with Mrs Bell on Friday in the large study room. After the introductions, the group were told of the reasons for family learning in school and the usual method of delivering workshops for parents. This one is different due to the excellent opportunity to take up the residential weekend.
When the children arrived, we used laptops to look up Pendrell Hall on the internet. it looks a grand place! The image gallery was very useful as it gave us an idea of which rooms we would use. After that, we had a look look at the William Shrewsbury website as that gave details of last year's 3B's experience of family learning.
Then we went over the procedures for the weekend. We will all need to take wellies, in case it's wet and some very smart clothes for Saturday's 'posh' meal! Mrs Bell gave out the list of items to take and examples of food we will eat there. It all looks very good.
In the evening David Evans met with Mrs Hunter and Mrs Bell to go over the programme. We made a few changes and agreed that we were all looking forward to going again.
